Some Change but not enough to satisfy everyone!

There was always going to be change in Bo'ness & Blackness with only 2 SNP candidates with at least one new face.

And that is what happened...

  1. Harry Constable (SNP)
  2. Adrian Mahoney (LAB)
  3. John Constable (SNP)

Harry Constable (SNP) won on a first past the post basis taking more than required with 1700+ votes.

After re-allocation of his additional votes Adrian Mahoney was next to gain the required 25%+1 number of votes.

After two more countbacks and on the fourth count John Constable gained the necessary votes to be elected for the third place of councillor.

Some change but perhaps not enough

Even at this early stage (8am), just after the announcement, the number of people who have indicated they had voted for me on the basis of wanting change and an independent voice has been both welcome and gratifying.

At least there is one alternative viewpoint and opinion that will be speaking for Bo'ness and I will give every support to him and the other elected councillors, if they begin to work together in partnership and cooperation for the benefit of all of the electorate in Bo'ness and Blackness.

Thanks for all the help and support

I am disappointed to not have been given the opportunity to support and effect that change but believe that it is still necessary and will give the support to any of our local representatives who bring forward policies for change for the benefit of Bo'ness & Blackness.

I take this opportunity to thank the small band of supporters that gave me the help to get leaflets out and put up the posters and who believed that change was needed.

But most of all I thank the electorate of Bo'ness and Blackness who voted for me and who, like me, believed that change for partnership and cooperation was long overdue.

Thanks for your support!
